A couple weeks back Bill asked me to photograph him with his new Collings Guitar. It was a fun afternoon and I had Daniel Sheehan there helping with lighting. These are just a couple of the shots that we came up with.
Love these shots! and an excellent one with Lucy !!
very nice guitar, i'm sure sounds good too. And Bill is just gorgeous, very classy indeed. reminds me of Schopenhauer. i wonder if a author is a relative of Bill, or it is just a coincidence
He looks right at home with the plaid and stripes combo, what an adorable pup-- was he that doggie in "The Artist"?
I was reading the latest issue of Guitar Player Magazine just now, when that B/W photo of Bill with guitar & dog caught my eye.
Being a guitar player who is interested in photography and being married to a photographer (see www.siriknudsen.no), I immediately thought, 'wow!! who took this?'
I'm going to show this photo to my wife Siri as soon as I get home from work today because I know she'll agree that it's one of those photos you rarely see in ads; it looks naturally relaxed, not 'constructed' in any way. It has that special atmosphere to it.
I can almost here Bill's guitar tone coming from it. And the dog by his feet, looking at him like that.... A really great portrait of a great musician. Well done!!
I like his Rambler with the Ginger Baker Trio. I wonder what whammy he used. YouTube (ChordBender concealed) sounds similar - with extra sweet chordal vibrato.
